About Charles Wood & Son

History

Founded on 1 February 1907 when Charles Wood, Solicitor, opened an office at 242 High Street, Kirkcaldy. The business moved to premises at 113 High Street in 1912 and then again to its current location at 37 Kirk Wynd in 1964.

Charles Wood was joined by his son, Thallon Wood, in 1929 and the business was renamed Charles Wood & Son. Between 1955 and 1975 the family line was extended as successively Thallon Wood’s three sons, Brian, David and Angus became partners in the firm.

Brian retired as a partner in 1996 and as a consultant in 2017, David retired fully in 2003 and Angus in 2012.

Charles A. Cant, who was a partner between 1985 and 2010, has also now retired and his two sons, Charles and Colin are the current dircetors and members of Charles Wood & Son Limited.
